📱 How to Update Your Phone Number on SASSA

Changed your number? Here's how to update SASSA so you still receive your OTPs and payments.

⚠️ Important: You MUST update your number before your next payment date. If SASSA can't reach you, your payment may be delayed or declined.

Option 1: Try Online First

1 Go to srd.sassa.gov.za

Log in with your old phone number (if it still works) and ID number.

2 Go to "Update Details"

Look for the "Update Contact Details" or "Change Phone Number" option.

3 Enter your new number

Type your new phone number and confirm with the OTP sent to your OLD number (if accessible).

Option 2: Visit SASSA Office (Most Reliable)

If you can no longer access your old number, you MUST go in person to a SASSA office:
