Who we are, why we built this, and our commitment to helping South Africans.
SASSA Help Desk (sassahelpdesk.co.za) is a free, independent information website run by South Africans, for South Africans. We are not affiliated with the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) or the South African Government in any way.
We are a small team of South Africans who have seen firsthand how confusing, frustrating, and overwhelming the SASSA grant system can be — especially for elderly citizens, people in rural areas, and first-time applicants. We built this website to make things simpler.
Our mission is simple: to explain SASSA grants in plain, simple English — for free — so that every South African can access the support they are entitled to.
We believe that access to government information should not depend on education level, internet literacy, or money. Everything on this website is free to read and use. We never charge any fees for information or guidance.
